Christie Brinkley Launches “CeleBrate” Jewelry Collection with Retailer Ross

Getting Butterflies For Ugly Betty

It seems like ages since we’ve seen Betty Suarez’s trademark smile and marveled at Amanda’s snarky but sweet swagger.  But next week (after a one week push-back) Ugly Betty will return with a splashy two hour premiere at 8pm.

The “Butterfly Effect” will find Betty starting her new position as Features Editor and will include all the secrets and intrigue that’s made the show a hit.  Jamie Lynn Seigler will guest star as (be sure to take in snazzy outfit in the photo below) – she’ll be taking Daniel out for a night on the town.  Later on in the season Christie Brinkley is said to be making a appearance as a fashion editor of a rival magazine – that should be amusing – and Shakira will be dropping by as well.

Christie Brinkley and Shakira Score Roles on ‘Ugly Betty’

The singer will save the day during a Bahamas shoot while the supermodel will be a fashion editor for a competing magazine.

Deemed as the perfect representation of Latina, Shakira nabs a guest starring appearance on “Ugly Betty”. The show’s creator Silvio Horta confirmed that they are “huge fans” of the singer and that they have had the name in mind for sometime but the attachment wasn’t happening until the fourth season.

“We’re huge fans of Shakira,” Horta told People. “We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to ‘Hips Don’t Lie’. We’ve mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She’s an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit.”

Not taking a role, Shakira gets the honor of playing herself. She will be the icon featured in a Mode photo shoot taking place in the Bahamas and she will help to save the day when things go wrong. Horta said to TV Guide that Shakira will be sharing scenes with Betty’s nephew Justin who apparently is the one in the know about her alias.

The episode which will “likely” to air in November is called “The Bahamas Triangle”. The shooting however will be taking place in New York.

Additionally, the show is also bringing in former supermodel Christie Brinkley as one of the guest stars. But unlike Shakira, Brinkley will play the character named Penelope Graybridge who is an editor of a competing fashion magazine. The shooting will also be held in New York although it is still unclear for which episode.

“Ugly Betty” returns for the fourth season on Friday, October 9.

Christie Brinkley and Shakira to appear on Ugly Betty!

UPDATE: Ugly Betty has guest-star overload. Christie Brinkley‘s rep confirms that the former supermodel will join the series this season as Penelope Graybridge, the fashion editor of a competing magazine.

Shakira is stepping into actress Mode.

The sexy songstress has been tapped to play herself in an upcoming episode of Ugly Betty, ABC confirms.

A network rep tells us Shakira “will be shooting her scenes in New York, but they will [appear] in the Bahamas episode—which will most likely air in November.”

‘Ugly Betty’ Hauls in Shakira and Christie Brinkley

Just what are they doing to Ugly Betty season 4 with all these guest stars lined up?  We just reported yesterday that Jamie-Lynn Sigler will appear as Daniel’s assistant on the show.  Now, another update has been posted for even more stars on the guest list.  This is certainly some intense name-dropping for such a hit series.

According to TV Guide, a couple more ladies will be making their way to the set of Ugly Betty.  The first one is songstress Shakira, who’s been called up to play herself on an upcoming episode of the show.  The second is supermodel Christie Brinkley, with a role as a competing fashion editor.
